A new cheese for me - Blanc Bleu Tambour from the Loire Valley in France. This is what I got at Murray’s Cheese when I asked for a soft, non-stinky cheese to go with Riesling. This is a delicious cheese- creamy, tangy, and just the slightest bit funky from the moldy rind. It was nice with this slightly sweet Riesling but would be better with Sancerre or, of course, grower Champagne.
For the wine, Dönnhoff is one of my favorite wine producers in the world and this Kabinett is one of my first tastes of the highly touted 2011 vintage. Delicious stuff!
