I enjoyed some pizza in the last week… Lombardi’s on the left, Pepe’s Clam in the middle (sorry for the missing bite), and Pepe’s original on the right. Lombardi’s may not be the best pie in the city, but it’s the classic and still very good. I prefer it over these slices from New Haven-based Frank Pepe’s. The clam pie is great, but I have a hard time ordering clams over tomato and cheese on my pizza. Note that these were from one of the “satellite” Pepe’s, not the original, and based on my limited experience, I’m pretty sure there’s a quality difference.
